  • Topics to consider during Informational Interviews

  • The UCSB Career Connections networking and mentor program was created as a means for alumni and students to gain information and insight in making career decisions. The database of volunteers is searchable by job title, major, occupation, employer and job description. In addition to name, address and phone number, each listing includes year of graduation, graduate work, career experience, present job title and a brief description of responsibilities. This is a tool to gather information which will assist in making career decisions; it is not a job placement or internship service. However, the extent of the educational component of the program between the individuals is left open. It can range from a 20 minute informational phone interview to an in-person meeting to a “day on the job” shadowing opportunity to even a mentor arrangement.

This program, sponsored by the UCSB Alumni Association, is for the exclusive use of UCSB students and members of the UCSB Alumni Association at no charge.

Using the links above, you can search and request contact information, include your own information in the database if you would like to serve as a contact, or get more information on topics to discuss during your conversation.
